Croatia remains one of the most popular summer destinations in Europe, and if you’re looking for a peaceful seaside escape, Aminess Velaris Resort on Brač Island is an excellent choice. Here’s my honest review after staying at this beautiful 4-star resort.
Aminess Velaris Resort
Aminess Velaris Resort is a charming 4-star hotel in Supetar on Brač Island, Croatia. Although it’s located in the island’s main town, the resort sits about two kilometres from the centre, offering guests a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature.
One of the hotel’s most impressive features is its magnificent Mediterranean garden, home to more than 1,600 plant species. Walking through the gardens feels like stepping into a secret paradise filled with olive trees, flowers and the relaxing sounds of nature.
The resort consists of several buildings with different room categories. I stayed in the beautiful Villa Vela Luka, one of the most exclusive parts of the resort.
Located directly by the sea, the villa offers breathtaking views of the Adriatic and surrounding pine trees. Built from traditional white stone, it perfectly reflects the charm of the Croatian coast.
My Apartment at Villa Vela Luka
I stayed in a spacious one-bedroom apartment on the second floor with a large terrace overlooking both the sea and the gardens.
The apartment included everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a refrigerator, electric kettle, tea selection, glasses, hairdryer, slippers and complimentary toiletries.
Housekeeping visited every day, replacing towels, making the bed, emptying the bins and replenishing bottled water. This level of service is something you don’t always find in a 4-star hotel.
The bed was incredibly comfortable and positioned beside a large window facing the sea. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset from the terrace became one of my favourite memories.
The villa also has direct access to the beach, which can be reached in less than a minute.
Breakfast at Aminess Velaris Resort
Breakfast is served in a spacious restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the resort’s beautiful gardens.
Enjoying breakfast while listening to birds singing and surrounded by nature was the perfect way to start each day.
The buffet offers an excellent variety of fresh bread, fruit, cheeses, cold cuts, hot dishes and vegetarian as well as vegan options.
My personal favourites were the delicious carrot cake and the Swiss-style bircher muesli.
How to Get to Aminess Velaris Resort
Getting to Brač Island is much easier than many people expect.
From Split, simply take a Jadrolinija ferry to Supetar. The journey takes approximately one hour and passenger tickets are very affordable.
From Supetar ferry port, you can take a taxi, arrange a hotel transfer or enjoy a pleasant 2-kilometre walk to the resort.
If you’re staying in Makarska, you can also reach Brač by ferry to Sumartin and continue by bus to Supetar.
